Meg Castro

Meg is an author and owner of Bohlander House Press

Bohlander House Press came out of a result of wanting to find a place to belong, to explore, and to create.

Meg has been writing since at least Middle School. In Middle School, she would torture her older brother with her stories that she wrote about her favorite X-Men or Batman characters, complete with bad drawings.

From there, she began to explore creating her own fantasy world when she reached high school. She was a bit annoyed that there weren’t a lot of one’s that involved strong female leads, this was back in the 1990’s. She wanted to change that.

College happened.

In her adulthood she began to explore the world of paranormal books. While being a stay-at-home mom, she began to write her own book about vampires and werewolves. With encouragement from her husband and friends she published Shadows of the Past. From there she found her outlet for dealing with her depression, her anxiety, and her way of dealing with stress. Writing is her therapy.

Bohlander House Press was created while she was working on Fallen Descent. She had used two different Self-Publishing firms and hadn’t been happy with either. She wanted something that fit her, that could help her grow.

Since launching BH Press (for short) she was able to bring her first three books over. Meg re-worked each book, making changes she wished she had done before she originally published them. With new titles they were relaunched as the Adulwulf Chronicles.

Currently, Meg is working on two different series. The Sacred Accord series is a Paranormal/Detective series based in NYC. It has witches, vampires, and werewolves. As well as laughter, friendship, and trying to find your place in the world. Meg is planning on publishing the first book, Sacred Dark, in summer of 2021.

The second series she is working is her fantasy series from high school. When she worked on it in in the late 1990’s she thought it would never be published. It had gay gods, kick ass women, supportive men. Now it is a reality and she is striving to make sure it is perfect. It is currently in its first draft.

When Meg isn’t writing, she is with her family or teaching. Meg is a special education teacher. She has her bachelor’s in History and during the Pandemic finished her MS in Education.
